Gates, 69, of 5201 Kentucky 171, Greenville, died at 3:33 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was born Nov. 25, 1939, in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker and member of Carter Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Gates of Greenville; two sons, Steve (Sonya) Gates and Gary (Dawn) Gates, all of Powderly; a daughter, Karen (Keith) White of Newburgh, Ind.; four grandchildren, Kory (Erin) White, Justin (Megan) Gates, Jacqueline Jordan and Whitney Gates; and two great-grandchildren, Madison White and McKinley Gates. Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Brother Donnie Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in Joines Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
