Joyce Faye Whitney

June 26, 1943 - January 6, 2025

BELTON – Joyce Faye Whitney, 81, of Belton, died Monday, January 6, 2025, at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital.  Mrs. Whitney was born June 26, 1943, in Muhlenberg County.  She was retired from Cowden Manufacturing and also worked at Red Kap.  She attended Union Chapel Baptist Church.  Mrs. Whitney was a 50-year member of Eastern Star.  She loved to watch hummingbirds and game shows.  She adored chocolate.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apples of her eye.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Whitney; parents, Phillip and Christine Baker; brother, S.P. “Cracker” Baker; and granddaughter, Amanda LeeAnn Whitmer.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Ricky) Whitmer; grandchildren, Ricky Scott (Andrea) Whitmer and Phillip Whitmer; great-grandchildren, Jayden Whitmer, Carter Whitmer, RaLeigh Whitmer (Dylan Landrum), and Trevor Whitmer; and great-great-grandchildren, Peyton Rose Whitmer and Dakoda Wayne Landrum.

Angie, grandchildren and all the family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Over the years Joyce and I had lost touch but I still remember the times when we were children. There were family reunions at our Granddaddy Bakers home and all of us grandchildren had a great time playing together. There were more times but that is the one that stands out in my memory. Again I am so sorry for your loss.
