GREENVILLE – Johnnie Edward Evitts, 75, of Greenville, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at 4:30AM at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mr. Evitts was born September 19, 1935 in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired welder with Kentucky Utilities, a member of East Union Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Melba Stevens Evitts; sons Billy (Stephanie) Evitts of Greenville and John David Pentecost of Georgetown; a daughter, Sherry (Jim) Beasley of Englewood, Florida; grandchildren Cory Beasley, Tyler Beasley, Maggie Evitts, Parker Evitts, and Adrianna Workman; great-grandchildren Grace Pentecost and Weston Pentecost; and sisters Faye (Kenneth) Galyen and Freda (Terry) McCay, all of Graham. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Ray Gilliland officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
