SOUTH CARROLLTON – John “J.J.” Robert Devine, 77, of South Carrollton, died Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Greenville Nursing and Rehab. in Greenville. He was born December 17, 1946 in Cleaton, KY. He worked as a Truck Driver for Fosters Trucking and was a member of South Carrollton Missionary Baptist Church. He was a great story-teller and the life of the party. If he did not show up for the party, his family went to find him. His family, grandchildren, and especially his great-grandchild put a smile on his face. Drag racing and UK Basketball were his favorite pastimes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Emma Evelyn Devine; brother, Fred Devine; and sister, Barbara Jean Fox.

He is survived by his daughter, Katie Jon Devine Yates; brother, Clyde Richard (Sandra) Devine; sisters, Jane (John) Lagioia, and Patricia Lynn Devine; grandchildren, Haustin Hawkins (Mady Rock), Eli Hawkins, and Piper Daniel; great-grandchild, Kolt Hawkins; step-son, Jeremy Rager; and step-grandchildren, Harley (Trae) Cumbee, Hailey Rager, and Habrey Rager.

Memorial Services for friends and family will be Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 6PM at South Carrollton Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Curtis McGhee officiating.
