John Louis LaGioia

CENTRAL CITY – John Louis LaGioia, 86, of Central City, KY, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. John was born in Chicago, IL, on August 6, 1938, to the late Louis and Marie LaGioia. He was a retired Police Sergent of Franklin Park, IL, and was a member of the Church of God Prophecy. He was a faithful servant in his church, having served as a Deacon for approximately 40 years. He loved John Wayne movies, and was a fan of Kentucky Basketball, but the true love of his life was his darling grandchildren. John is preceded in death by both parents; and a grandson, Caleb Harvell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jane Devine LaGioia; his children, Lisa (Phil) Harvell of Greenville, and Louis LaGioia of Central City; his grandchildren, Zachary (Lynette) Harvell; his sister, Maryann Gianoble; his niece, Jackie Howe, as well as several other nieces and nephews; his Sister-in-law, Patricia Lynn Devine; and his Brother-in-law, Richard (Sandy) Devine.
