Huddy was a dear friend to us. He was one of my favorite PKA brothers at WKU. We were so blessed to reconnect over the last 10 years and to spend time together with him and his precious Vern in Clarksville, Ocala and Key West. We had Key Lime Margaritas in his honor last night. He will be with us in good spirit forever! Marti and Chris Wenzler

I’m sorry this had to be this way, you were a great individual but who am I to question god. I wish nothing but the best for your family, who would’ve thought this would’ve happened. It’s going to be weird not randomly running into you at the top 20 or even at Hyundai having a 5-10 minute convo just about life and telling each other it’ll get better “hopefully” you’re now with the man above and glad you’re no longer in pain but also hate to see you go.

My sincerest condolences to Vern, Johns family, and his many friends. I had the pleasure of meeting John at Wyatt Johnson GMC. For several years I would see him often each week. He always greeted me with a smile and a kind word. He would also ask how I and my family were doing. He was genuinely concerned. I know I will miss that smile and kind words. He was one of the good guys.

There are so many wonderful memories growing up alongside Johnny. From first grade to twelvth an after, I literally do not remember a frown. One memory I treasure….. In second grade, I had a bike wreck and had my teeth wired together. During school and at recess, Johnny sat close to the curb where I sat across the street on my curb and yelled back and forth after his paper airplane to me crashed in the middle of the road. I thought it was love. And I was right. I did and will always love you Johnny Khol. Praying for you Vern, Judy, Terry and your children!
Paul Harmon left a message on February 21, 2025:
