DRAKESBORO – Jewell “Ebbie” Edward Wood, 73, of Drakesboro, died Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 4:05PM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mr. Wood was born September 20, 1949, in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired coal miner and attended Belton Beechmont Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Anna Wood; daughter, Penny Ellen Wood; and brother, Roger Wood.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Miller Wood; children, Connie (Mark) Edge and Tim Wood; five granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Wood, Jimmy Wood, Gerald Wood, and Robert Wood; and sister, Shirley Saddler.

Funeral services will be Sunday, December 11, 2022, at 2:00PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Bro. Bobby Allen officiating, assisted by Bro. Danny Miller. Visitation will be Sunday after 11:00AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.

Very sorry for your and your families loss

So sorry for your loss and I know it was a huge one, Ebbie was one of the best men that I know, always helping anyone who needed it. I could always tell that his family was everything to him,he surely will be missed. I love you all and ill be praying for you all.

I will never forget this man's kindness and love towards others. He was one of the rare ones in this world . The world's lost is gods greatest gain. My love and prayers to his amazing family . He will truly love on through there hearts and souls .

This man. A staple and steady fixture in nearly all my childhood and teenage memories. You couldn’t find a better person. He was one of a kind and reminded me so much of papaw Donald. I know he’s rejoicing know. Carolyn, Connie, Timmy and all the grands and great grands I’m heartbroken for you all. I know the close bond you all have and had. I’ll keep praying.

Heaven gained a precious soul. Ebby was such a sweet person. He will be missed by so many. Sending thoughts and prayers for Carolyn, Connie, Tim, and the family. Love you all so much.
