Jerry Glen Ward POWDERLY — Jerry Glen Ward, 58, of Powderly died at 10:11 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at his home. He was born Feb. 23, 1952, in Muhlenberg County. He was a truck driver for Apollo Oil in Madisonville and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Golda Ward; a grandson, Marvin Daniel Ward; and a brother, Ronnie Ward. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Piper Ward of Powderly; two sons, Jared Ward of Powderly and Joseph (Stephanie) Ward of Greenville; a daughter, Regina (Wade) Griggs of Powderly; grandchildren Daven, Mersadez, Daniel, Jerri, Keisha, Brandon, Braxton, Jacob, Skyler, Lashea and Mackenzie; a great-grandchild, Mason; brothers Marvin Ward of Chicago, Donald Ward of Penrod, Stevie Ward of Graham and Waymon Ward of Drakesboro; and sisters Darlene Toomey of Dunmor, Mae Chumley of Central City and Shirley Gray of Belton. Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church in Greenville. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Mr. Ward will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
