CENTRAL CITY – James William Rowland, 65, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026. James was a lifelong resident of the Greenville area and a graduate of Greenville High School. He was a talented and highly skilled welder who took great pride in his work and the things he could create with his hands.
From an early age, James was raised in the family’s greenhouses and on the family farm, where he helped grow beautiful flowers, garden vegetables, and crops and helped raise cattle. The farm was more than simply a place to work – it was a part of who James was and a cherished part of his upbringing.
He is survived by his daughter, Lacy Elizabeth Rowland; and his sister, Bettye Faye Rowland Albin.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Algernon Wesley (A.W.) Rowland and Elizabeth Anderson Rowland; and his brother, Lee Rowland.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his only daughter and all who knew him.
