James F. Strange CENTRAL CITY — James F. Strange, 72, of Central City, died at 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, at his residence. He was born on Jan. 3, 1937, in Powell County. He was a member of Powderly Holiness Church, and was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Strange; father, Lynard Strange; brothers, Harrison Strange, Clendor Strange and Garret Strange; sister, Margret Strange; and granddaughter, Ashley Sigers. Mr. Strange is survived by his children, Dennis and Tara Strange, of Fort Wayne, Ind., Peggy and Thomas Stevens, Scottie and Carolee Strange, Tammy and Timothy Sigers and Steven and Jessica Strange, all of Central City; grandchildren, Sarah Strange, Orion Strange, Amber Strange, Lushan Strange, Kaitlin Gates, Jessica Rager, Austin Lacefield, Varina Stevens, Joseph Stevens, Blade Stevens, Dawsun Stevens, Scottie Strange, Landon Sigers, Stetson Sigers, Kaitlin Strange and Dawson Strange; his mother, Peggy Strange of Clay City; brothers, Truman Strange, Melvin Strange, Doris Strange and Jerry Strange, all of Clay City; sisters Judy Combs, of Montgomery County, Helen Brewer, Louise Hobbs and Janice Centers, all of Clay City. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Powderly Holiness Church by Brother Larry Shemwell. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central city.
