What would I give to be standing beside you watching you reel that old jitterbug across the water one more time? To see the excitement in your eyes when a bass struck it! To here you tell one more story of you childhood. To mow that yard with you one more time. Dad you taught me the value of hard work. You taught me what being a man was supposed to be. In all the years you worked I only remember you missing work twice. I wish I were as strong and determined as you were. Your work ethic is unmatched by anyone I know to this day. I did not understand your love till I had a son of my own, and then I started to see how you gave of yourself to your family. I thank you for all the hard lessons I learned while working at your side. I wish I could spend one more day of hard work with you, just to see the look in your eyes and here the pride in your voice when we finished. I would not trade the last night I spent with you for anything. I wish I had been with you when you left this world, for that I am truly sorry. I love you and always will miss you. Scottie

Frank/James is my papaw. His best friend was the outdoors and his worst enemy was the blackbirds that dared to get within a football field's length of his yard. I miss him. Just thinking about him standing at the sink at his old house doing dishes makes me cry. If I ever needed anything, I knew my papaw would give it to me. If i showed up and my car wasn't perfectly clean and running smooth, it would be when i left. Papaw, people didn't give you enough credit when you were alive and I regret not getting to know you like I did mamaw. You were my perfect grandparents and I miss you like crazy. If there are any blackbirds in heaven I hope there are also rifles. ;P
