CENTRAL CITY – James Alfred Sallee, 90, of Central City, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 2:20AM at his home. Mr. Sallee was born October 28, 1920 in McLean County, KY. He was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA. He was also a member of Crossing Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Ruby Mitchell Sallee; sons James M. (Lue) Sallee of Central City and Larry Ray Sallee of Central City; daughters Barbara J. (Donald) Gregory of Drakesboro and Tilda F. (Larry) Shemwell of Drakesboro; 26 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren; a sister Agnes Pointer of Central City; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Larry Shemwell officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
