BREMEN – James L. “Jimmy” Nelson, 76, of Bremen, died Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 4:35PM at Shady Lawn Nursing and Rehab in Cadiz. Mr. Nelson was born September 26, 1943, in Muhlenberg County. He was retired from the U.S. Army, and had fond memories of his military career. He was also employed at Bell South as a mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith, and he loved his family and grandchildren, and his dog named Sugar. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Nelson; father Samuel Neal; and mother Lucy Neal. He is survived by his daughters, Carrie Beth Nelson of Bremen and Cherie Anne Abbott of Colorado; son James Bradley Nelson of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister Faye Flener; grandchildren Gabriel Masden, Gavin Masden, Jessica Sosh, and Dallas Abbott; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, November 22, 2019, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Bobby Allen officiating. Burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. CENTRAL CITY – James Robert Nelson, 75, of Central City, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 7:35PM after a lengthy illness. Mr. Nelson was born September 19, 1942, in Mt. Vernon, IL. He retired from the United States Army after 25 years of service. He was also retired from TVA Labor Union and was a PACS driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl and Lula Nelson; first wife Marilyn Sue Nelson; and second wife Delois Nelson. He is survived by his son, Karl “Tony” (Valerie) Nelson of Central City; daughter Rebecca (Mike) McConnell of Edinboro, PA; sisters Ida Nell Duncan and Karen Kittinger, both of South Carrollton; step-sons Troy Wilson, Sean Wilson, and Issac Wilson; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 10:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Leslie Duncan officiating, assisted by Tony Nelson. Burial in Nelson Creek Cemetery.
