POWDERLY – James Robert Jett, 82, of Powderly, died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on September 23, 1929 in West Virginia, was a retired coal miner, and a member of the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and a U. S. Army Veteran. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey Faye Jett and a daughter, Sherry Whitaker. Survivors include his wife, Ida Jean Durham Jett of Powderly, daughters, Vickie(Ronnie)Shelton of Broughton, IL and Michelle(Robert)Piper of Powderly, grandchildren, Jennifer(Tim)Morgan of Powderly and Jayme Brewer of Dunmor, great grandchild, Seth Morgan of Powderly, son in law, Oscar Whitaker of Powderly, step son, Jack Ford of Chicago, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, conducted by Rev. Cody Crowell with burial in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powderly.
