James Franklin Groves Published: Sunday, May 17, 2009 11:58 PM CDT DEPOY — James Franklin Groves, 68, of Depoy died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born April 1, 1941, in Muhlenberg County. He was a truck driver at a sawmill. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Roberson Groves; his parents, Franklin and Mary Groves; a sister, Carolyn Ann Groves; and three brothers, Lloyd Groves Sr., Bobby G. Groves and Frankie A. Groves. Survivors include a brother, Ricky (Lora) Groves of Graham; five sisters, Rebecca (Keith) Payton of Central City, Lavonne (Terry) Jones of Greenville, Martha Taylor of Cottonwood, Ala., Ursley Groves of Dunmor and Dona (Ray) Gibson of Nortonville; and several nieces and nephews. Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Terry Groves officiating and the Rev. Andy Turner assisting. Burial will be in Lee Hill Cemetery in Depoy.
