CENTRAL CITY – James Earl “Jimmy” Casebier, 75, of Central City, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 12:25AM, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born December 19, 1950, in Muhlenberg County.

Jimmy was the devoted husband of 53 years to Jerrilyn Casebier. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering love. He was a proud father to Jamie (Matt) Oates and Brad (Brittany) Casebier.

Known affectionately as “Papaw J,” he was adored by his grandchildren, Conner (Autumn) and Kaylan Oates, and Braden, Abby, Bryce, and Olivia Casebier. He was also blessed with one great-granddaughter, Maggie Blair Oates, who brought him immense joy. Jimmy is also survived by his sister, Sharon Peveler; his mother-in-law, Betty Tudor; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary Frances Casebier; his sister, Phyllis Vincent; grandmother, Elizabeth Casebier; and his father-in-law, Jarrell Tudor.

Jimmy retired from the P&L Railroad in 2005 after many years of dedicated service. Throughout his career, he willingly drove 200 miles each day so his family could remain in the home and community they loved while his children were growing up. His sacrifice was just one of the many ways he put his family first.

A lifelong baseball enthusiast, Jimmy found great happiness coaching Little League and softball, umpiring countless games, and cheering on his beloved Detroit Tigers as their biggest fan. He also loved spending time fishing and making treasured memories while traveling with his family.

Jimmy never met a stranger. With his warm smile, generous heart, and kind spirit, he had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like family. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a laugh, or simply being present, he made it his mission to care for those he loved. His legacy is one of selflessness, loyalty, and unconditional love.

Jimmy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him. Though his presence will be greatly missed, the values he lived by and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Scott Casebier officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday after 10:00AM at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.  Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
