CENTRAL CITY – Imogene Sumner Heltsley, 93, of Central City, died Monday, December 9, 2024 at 9:55AM at her residence. Ms. Heltsley was born in Muhlenberg County on May 3, 1931. She was a member of Woodson Missionary Baptist Church and had worked at the Cigar Factory and Speed Queen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Earl Heltsley; son, Randall Louis Heltsley; son-in-law, Jerry Nelson; grandchildren, Joseph Ray Nelson, and Jana Nelson Gibson; sisters, Kathleen Ponder, and Celestine Peveler; and brothers, Layton Sumner, R.W. McGhee.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Nelson of Bluff City, Jackie (William) Nelson of Robards, and LaDonna Barnes of Bremen; grandchildren, Scottie Heltsley, Jonathan Terrel Nelson, Bradley Lane Barnes, Jessica Lane Barnes, and Tammy Nelson Goodwin; great-grandchildren, Natalie Nelson, Kasey Nelson, Alexis Lamontagne, Deacon Lamontagne, Stella Barnes, Kole Allen Gibson, Kaitlin Nelson, Madison Nelson, John Balma, Kieven Sabusap, Kera Ashley Evans, Haley Heltsley Dixon, Kyle Andrew Gibson, Cody Scott Heltsley, Taylor Heltsley Hayes, Jared Michael Nelson, and Samantha Bittle; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Travis Fox officiating and Bro. Brent Noffsinger assisting. Burial in Bethlehem Cemetery.
