SACRAMENTO – Hurshel Bowman, 79, of Sacramento, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at 2:32 PM at his home after a lengthy illness. Hurshel was born December 20, 1932 to the late Buck and Marie Bowman Arnold and was married to Darlene Bowman. He was a member of the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder for many years. Hurshel proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, worked for Boggess Chevrolet for many years and retired from Greenville Log and Lumber as a heavy equipment operator. His favorite past time and enjoyment was heading to the lake or Green River for a day of fishing with family and friends and spending time with his “Little Buddy” Kainen. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Darlene Bowman; four children, Andi Randolph, Lisa Payton, Mike Bowman, and Brock Bowman, all of Sacramento; two step-children, Keith Cissna and Sheila Bolton, both of Sacramento; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Jonathon, Adam, Jennifer, Jessica, and Ryan; six step-grandchildren, Sierra, Cody, Shana, Jon Michael, Michael, and Dustin; eight great-grandchildren, Payton, Ramsey, Kainen, Audrey, Isabella, Nolan, Allison, and McKenna; one brother, Houston Bowman; two sisters, Annetta Bailey and Idella Ruby; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11:00AM at the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Butler and Rev. Steve Delashmit officiating. Burial will be in the Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may visit with the Bowman family Wednesday from 4-8PM and Thursday after 9:00AM at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sacramento. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Hurshel Bowman family request expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery fund.
