Hugh will never be replicated; he was an original. Moreover, he was at the top for positively impacting projects or ventures to develop his hometown and county. This impactfulness extended to personal relations—he loved people, and they returned the love. I will cherish the memories of rooming with Hugh in Louisville in the summer of 1966.

When I read what Hugh wrote on fb a few days ago I was touched. He had a very touching way of saying good-bye to his friends and family. I was blessed to have him as a friend as were many more people. My prayers are with Pat and family. I told him many of us would be joining him soon. The main thing to remember is to be ready to meet the Lord. Hugh is painless and praising God. Although he will be missed greatly, we can have the assurance of seeing him again soon with a new glorified body.
