Hubert Franklin Green

June 13, 1932 - July 6, 2026

BREMEN – Hubert Green, age 94, of Bremen, KY passed away July 6, 2026 at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 13, 1932 to Leslie and Ola Rich Green, Hubert lived a life marked by love and devotion to his family. Known as “Sporty” to his friends, Hubert was an outdoorsman, a craftsman, an inventor, and a tinkerer with an insatiable curiosity for understanding how things worked. Throughout his life he built or modified countless items to make life easier for his disabled daughter as well as bookshelves, furniture, and treehouses for his children and grandchildren.

Hubert was a veteran of the United States Air Force (during which time he met his wife), a charter member of the Bremen Volunteer Fire Department, and served on the planning and zoning commission for more than 20 years. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors in need.

Hubert is survived by his wife of 72 years, Jeanette Green; daughters, Ann Green and Nancy Green Smith, both of Owensboro, KY; grandchildren, Lauren Smith of Louisville, KY, Logan Smith (Emily) of Louisville, KY, Lane Smith of Louisville, KY, Ragon Grimes (Megan) of Cadiz, KY, and Reed Grimes of Hopkinsville, KY; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janice Grimes; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Dear Nancy and family: I am very sorry for your loss; it is a difficult thing to lose your Daddy. I know how close you have been to your parents and how very much you have done to provide love and care for them. Prayers and hugs to you during your time of grief.

Mr. Green was such a sweet soul. He will be missed by many, and he is definitely loved by many. I pray over his wife, Jeanette, and his daughters, Annie and Nancy, for comfort in knowing he’s no longer suffering in the name of Jesus, Amen.
