BROWDER — Hilda Orange, 75, of Browder went home to be with the Lord at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, after a lengthy illness. She was born on Nov. 10, 1935, in Bevier. Mrs. Orange was retired from Sumitomo Electric in Morgantown and was a greeter at Drakesboro, Hughes-Kirk and South Elementary schools. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Drakesboro. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lora Beth Orange. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Auda Orange Jr. of Browder; a son, Jewel Alan (Carolyn) Orange of Browder; two daughters, Debra Lynn (Jeff) Wint of Browder and Tammy Darlene (Tex) Allen of Drakesboro; grandchildren Sarah (Bradley) Owens, Tracy (Dustin) Church, Ashley Wint, Alan Orange and Casey Orange; a great-grandchild, Carley Beth Owens; and two brothers, Ernie (Christine) Mayes of Waterford, Mich., and Lindall (Lucille) Vick of Columbia, Tenn. Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Casebier officiating, assisted by the Rev. Fred Harrison. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery in Drakesboro. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
