DRAKESBORO – Harold “Aaron” Devine Jr, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Aaron was born on February 29, 1948 in Greenville. He was a highly skilled welder who took great pride in his work and was respected for his craftsmanship. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, muscle cars and was a bit of a history buff. He was always eager to learn and share what he knew.

Aaron was a faithful member and served as a deacon at Powderly Seventh-day Adventist Church. His faith was an important part of his life, and he faithfully served his church and community.

Aaron is survived by his loving wife, Nikki Devine; his daughter, Amy Wash and her husband, Jay, and their sons, Eli and Max; his son, Brian Devine and his wife, Kate, and their children, Aedan and Eve; and his sister, Shelia Evans (Don Evans). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold “Butch” Devine, and his mother, Lois Devine.

Aaron will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet strength and love of fishing. Though his passing was sudden, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain with those who knew him.

Aaron often found himself helping in the need of others, and just like his father “Butch” he would have given his shirt off his back if you had asked him. Although a natural skeptical person Aaron had the knack of seeing through the noise and seeing the true needs of others.

The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. A Memorial service will be held at the Powderly Seventh Day Adventist Church on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 12PM with Pastor Kevin Dunn officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will start at 10:30AM on Friday at the church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Muhlenberg County Humane Society.

Aaron was an amazing man and grandfather. Everytime we got to visit I always enjoyed spending time with him. He had an intriguing personality and a voice that made you listen no matter what the topic was. I aspire to be like the man he was as i become a man myself. Rest in peace papaw.

Jim and I wish to offer our deepest sympathy to the family of Aaron Devine. We recall enjoying visiting with Aaron at family reunions that Anne and Ken Melton held at their Beaver Dam, KY homes Although we didn't know Aaron well we knew that anyone that Nikki would marry had to be a good person because the Ball family is a very positive family. Nikki was brought up by wonderful parents ,Ellen and Vernon Ball. Ellen was so sweet and Vernon exuded his positive nature with his big smile when anyone would meet him. Even when he was very sick with his head bandaged up he still had that beautiful smile. Evidentally, much like Vernon, Aaron had great work ethics and was kind to everyone too. May he rest in peace. Rest In Peace, Aaron. I worked with him at Furnace Builders in the late 90's/early 2000's. I still remember him as being kind and just an all around nice person. Prayers to Mr. Devine's family.

Our family is so sad to hear of Aaron’s passing. Whenever he and Nikki came to Florida we enjoyed getting to know them at Kate and Brian’s dinner table celebrating holidays or just having a simple meal. I am so sorry for your loss. I loved Aaron so much. I remember him taking us fishing and we almost lost his minnow net and my flip flop went over the dam. He used to make me laugh when he raised his eyebrow and looked skeptical at my exaggerated statements. - Live Sam

My first vivid memory of my uncle Aaron is standing on the lake shore and him teaching me to fish. I remember him being surprised when I caught my first little fish. Until we see you in Heavan again Uncle Aaron. Thank you for the life and example you gave me. Nikki Ball Devine I love you and may the Lord walk beside you and Amy Wash, Brian Devine, my mom Sheila Devine Evans and your spouses and grandkids in your grief. This verse means everything, 1 Corinthians 15:26 "And the last enemy to be destroyed is death." Amen. Lord, we praise your name and give you glory for Aaron's life
