Gordon Wayne McRoy Gordon Wayne McRoy, 69, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at his home in South Carrollton. He was born Nov. 29, 1939, in Muhlenberg County to Hubert and Mary B. McRoy of Central City. He was a retired KU worker. After retiring he, along with his wife, owned Bargains Plus Furniture Store in South Carrollton. He enjoyed selling his golf carts. He also loved camping with his family and friends for many years. He was a member of the Nelson Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Catherine Blankenship; and brothers Earl McRoy and Larry McRoy. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, June McRoy; a son Jeffrey (Tina) McRoy; daughters Sherry (Marty) Drake and Angela (Scott) Garrett; grandchildren Jason (Christy) Drake, Jessica (Ben) Garrett, Clayton Wayne McRoy, Justin Drake, Chase McRoy and Cassidy Garrett; and great-grandson William Irvin Garrett. Services are at 1 p.m. today at Tuckers Funeral Home in Central City, with Brother Paul Uzzle Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
