CENTRAL CITY – Glenda Sue McDowell, 77, of Central City, died Thursday March 16, 2023 at 4:16PM at her residence. Mrs. McDowell was born August 2, 1945 in Greenville. She worked as a hairdresser and a School Cafeteria Worker and was a member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family, holidays, movies, vacations, cooking, knitting, crafts, painting, drag racing, Nascar, baseball, basketball, and most of all spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy, and Martha Tooley; and in-laws, Roy and Millicent McDowell.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ronnie McDowell; son, Kevin (Kristie) McDowell; grandkids, Bret (Lauren) McDowell, David (Lauren) McDowell, Joshua (Hannah Burch) McDowell; great-grandkids, Madeline, Mollie, Derek, Lucas, and Greyson on the way; siblings, Edith (Jackie) Stirsman and Robert (Sue) Tooley; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00AM at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central City with Bro. Johnny Culbertson officiating. Burial to follow. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund, c/o Roger Mitchell, 198 St. Rt. 604, Central City, KY 42330.
