CENTRAL CITY – Georgiana Capin Pate, 83, of Central City, died Friday, August 23, 2024, at 5:51AM at The Courtyard in Central City. Mrs. Pate was born February 19, 1941, in Princeton, Indiana. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Elizabethtown. Mrs. Pate was a graduate of Purdue University. She retired from teaching Spanish and English with the Hardin County School System, and she was known for creating lifelong memories for her students. She and her husband retired in Florida where they loved the tropical weather. She was an avid tennis player and loved to paint. She loved dogs, and her favorite dog was Kiki. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed watching hummingbirds.
Mrs. Pate was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Pate, Jr.; parents, George and Annabelle Capin; and sister Barbara Tuley.
She is survived by her children, Krista (Rodney) Martin, James (Ann) Pate III, and Daniel (Kendra) Pate; grandchildren, Taylor Martin, Nicholas Pate, Zachary Pate, Austin Martin, Kenlee Pate, and Madison “Maddy” Pate; brother, Steven (Robin) Capin; sister, Kathy (John) Luker; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Dr. Chase Thompson officiating, assisted by Chaplain Adam Bridgman.
