DRAKESBORO – Georgia Willoughby Benson Bivens, 81, of Drakesboro, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 12:31PM at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Greenville. Mrs. Bivens was born May 28, 1930 in Muhlenberg County to Perry Owen and Harriett Smith Willoughby. She was the last surviving sibling of fifteen children. Mrs. Bivens was a retired clerk and cook with The Pantry Stores, and she was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses in Central City. Coming from a musical family, Georgia loved to sing, dance, and play music. She loved life. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James F. Bivens; son Phillip Benson; daughter Angelia Williams; granddaughter Kelly Marie Williams; brothers Ray Thomas Willoughby, Edward “Tag” Willoughby, Charles Hilbert Willoughby, and Granville Willoughby; sisters Effie Willoughby, Althea Mayes, and Macel Doss; eight other siblings; and niece Genevive Rager. Survivors include her sons, Gary (Darlene) Benson of Drakesboro and Steve (Tracy) Benson of Ft. Branch, Indiana; step-son Steve (Kathy) Bivens of Central City; sister-in-law Myrtle Willoughby Johnson of Beechmont; twelve grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be Friday, May 4, 2012 at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Larry Jenkins officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
