George Edward Meadows

July 23, 1949 - August 8, 2015

BEECHCREEK – George Edward Meadows, 66, of Beech Creek, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville, following a short illness. George was born July 23, 1949 in Nashville, TN. George worked for United Parcel Service as a driver, training supervisor and Center Manager. He enjoyed many years, also, as upper management for other businesses, including PIP Printing of Nashville and Rentway of Kentucky. George was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church in Belton. He enjoyed studying his Bible, spending time with his family and reality television shows dealing with restoring collector cars and trucks. He also loved researching and collecting antique guns. In addition, George created many handmade items from numerous types of woodworking, his favorite to work with was barn wood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville Dee and Virginia Meadows and grandfather, Howard Bowers. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kimberly Blake Meadows, two sons, Gary (Stephanie) Meadows of Portland, TN and Jager Alfred Meadows of Beech Creek, a daughter, Clorissa (Aaron Henderson) Meadows of Beech Creek; 2 grandsons, Dustin White of Murfreesboro, TN and Austin Grogan of Portland, TN a sister, Trudie Tayse of Nashille, a brother, Ricky Meadows of Nashville; his in-laws, Mike and Peggy Blake of Beech Creek; grandmother Ruby Bowers; sisters in-law Michelle (Jerry) O’Bannon and Shannon (Aaron) Martin, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Hazel Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Belton, KY with Rev. Terry Chaney officiating, assisted by Rev. Danny Hinton, with burial in Hazel Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 10, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Hazel Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
