CENTRAL CITY – Genieve Blackburn, 72, of Central City, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 10:20PM at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Mrs. Blackburn was born September 27, 1938 in Logan County, WV. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her sons, Bobby Gean Blackburn of Georgia, Terry Blackburn of Central City, Michael Blackburn of Georgia, Don Blackburn of Grays Lake, IL, and Randell Blackburn of Morton Grove, IL; daughters Margaret Banks of Georgia and Rhonda Allen of Greenville; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his mother, Lillie Mae Simpkins of Henlawson, WV; sisters Diane Dean of Chicago, IL, Mary Mefford of Central City, Lola Fergerson of Flat Gap, KY, Bonnie Fleece of Lima, OH, Phyllis Nelson of Logan, WV, and Deloris Nelson of Henlawson, WV; and brothers Orie Simpkins of Logan, WV, Bill Simpkins of Flint, MI, and Bruce Simpkins of Henlawson, WV. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
