SACRAMENTO – Gary Allen Tucker, 54 On June 14, 2012 at 12:05AM, I went to be with the Lord and reunite with the loved ones that passed on before me for an overdue family reunion and a fishing trip with my dad. I was born to Allen Taylor Tucker Jr. and Opal Lee Davis Tucker on October 2, 1957 in Daviess County. I was a member of Tower’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Sacramento. While I was still a fairly young man I worked at two restaurants and mine reclamation. I met the love of my life and soul mate of 37 years in 8th grade when I popped her in the butt with a paper wad (many would call it a cupids arrow). I later got a job in 1983 at Madisonville North Hopkins High School, where I worked for 27 years, until August 10, 2010 when I was diagnosed with lung cancer and had to retire. However, don’t think that I was all work and no play. During my free time, you could catch me at Grand Rivers camping and fishing, cooking in the kitchen, gardening, working out in my building or just sitting in our recliners in our family room with our Cairn terriers Dorothy and Toto in our laps holding hands with Debbie. I was preceded in death by my father Allen (Ocotober 17, 1980), my mother Opal (November 7, 2010), and two infant siblings Donnie Taylor and Eva Beth Tucker. I was also preceded in death by my maternal grandparents Geneva Brazzel and Georgie Clifton Davis and paternal grandparents Allen Taylor Tucker, Sr. and Elizabeth Huckleberry Tucker. I am survived by wife and soul mate of 37 years Debbie Lou Pointer Tucker, two sons David and (Sam) Tucker of Nebo and Andrew “Drew” Tucker of Sacramento; one daughter Buffy and (Darrel) Avery of Sacramento; and one sister Jeanne Tucker, also of Sacramento. I was also blessed in my life to have two wonderful grandchildren Gwyndolynn Payge Knight Teague and John Allen Tucker, both of Nebo. I am also survived by one aunt Shelby Arnett and one uncle Curtis Davis, both of Sacramento and several cousins, along with many friends and co-workers, not to mention my many kids I have watched graduate over the years working at the high school. However, through it all I won the battle and kept the faith. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Towers Chapel United Methodist Church, with Pastor Pete Phelan officiating, assisted by Bro. Tab Cook.
