GREENVILLE- Gary Lennox Napier, 64, of Greenville Ky, died Saturday, July 18, 2015. He was born March 12, 1951 and grew up in Dry Ridge, Ky. A veteran, he was stationed at Ft. Campbell, where he found his love Kanitia of Greenville at the age of 23, and moved away from his parents and 10 brothers and sisters. Gary loved hunting and fishing probably more for the chance to be outdoors than the sport. It was not unusual to find Gary on the lake on a humid summer evening or in the woods in a crisp autumn. Gary remained in awe of the time he and his friend Virgil chanced upon Sasquatch from afar. Gary loved to tell the story of the intelligence in its eyes as it looked back at Gary who was hidden in his hunting stand. Gary was also an avid gardener, growing long rows of green beans, tomatoes, and melons. He particularly loved to lay his ears back on a fresh ear of corn. Gary loved to learn new things and always listened to you with great care. He loved to share his knowledge and help others and spent many years volunteering his time coaching athletics to Muhlenberg children. A humble man, he could only find one word to sum up his awe of the Grand Canyon. Gary is survived by his wife Kanitia and their son Dr. Shane Napier and daughter-in-law Lyn, of Central City. Gary was also survived by his older brother Randy “Marice” Napier and younger siblings, Mary “Billy” King, Barry Wade ‘Gay” Napier, Virginia “Larry” Ruby, Ella Napier, David Napier, Becky Hyatt, Lisa “Randy’ Godman. and Michelle “Gary” Henderson. Gary and Kanitia’s 15 year old puppy Dusty Sundown keeps on barking. Gary was preceded in death by his mother Ellie and father Walter and brother Pat. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
