Drakesboro – Gary Lynn Burgess, 73, of Drakesboro, died Friday, May 1, 2026 at 3:44p.m. at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, Kentucky. Mr. Burgess was born June 4, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas. He was a cutter for Tyson’s and he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Drakesboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Peggy Burgess.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Burgess; his daughter, Virginia Lloyd; his grandchildren, Hunter Lloyd, Conner Lloyd, and Kaylenn (Justin) Lloyd; his sisters, Glenda Debord, and Diana Burgess; his brother, David Burgess; and several cousins.
