CENTRAL CITY – Freddie Clay Smith, 70, of Central City, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 9:11PM at his home. Mr. Smith was born September 21, 1942 in Muhlenberg County. He was a heavy equipment operator with the state highway department, and was a member of Church of God. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Wiggins and twin sister, Betty Faye Lear. Survivors include his wife, Janetta Johnson Smith; sons Dustin Clay (Macey) Smith of Bremen and Freddie Clay (Misty) Smith, Jr. of Central City; daughters Janet Renae Smith of Central City, Denisha Marlene Smith of Central City, Sheri Dawn Smith of Central City, and Mary Jane Glare of South Carrollton; grandchildren Rylie Jo Smith, Lily Grace Smith, Chad Neal, Jesse Neal, Brittany Neal, Tara Neal, April Smith, Krystle Alverson, and Drake Piper; great-grandchildren Kelcie Brothers, Jaydon Neal, Blaise Baxter, Olivia Neal, Bailey Martin, Griffen Martin, Kaydence Neal, and Kenley Alverson; and sister Lois (Sammy) Groves. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home, with Bro. Mitchell Davis officiating, assisted by Bro. David Cardwell. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
