BOWLING GREEN – Freda Hendricks Henry, 83, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away at Hospice of Southern Kentucky on June 18, 2026.

Ms. Henry was preceded in death by her parents, Wynola Hendricks Tucker and James D. Hendricks.  Survivors include a son, Gregg Henry and a daughter Beth (Bob) Pate; grandchildren Jon Henry, Gavin Henry, Mathew (Ashlyn) Pate, and Ella Pate; and two sisters, Gayla Wester and Ann (Dave) Holtzworth.

Freda was a teacher in the Muhlenberg County school system for over thirty years.  She held several degrees from Western Kentucky University. As teaching was her passion, after retirement she volunteered several years at Alvaton Elementary in Alvaton, Kentucky.

Ms. Henry had been an active member of First Baptist churches in Central City , and First Baptist in Bowling Green after her retirement.  She also taught Sunday School in Central City during her time there.

Freda dedicated much of her time and efforts to her grandchildren.  Always feeling the need to give, she supported a number of charities and spent countless hours making mats for the homeless for Hotels Inc.

She will be remembered for the love and support she gave others. Her friends and family will always remember her toughness, perseverance, and compassion.

Services will be Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Kevin Reed officiating.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City immediately following the service.  Visitation will be Saturday from 9AM – 11AM at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
