MOUNTAIN HOME, AK – Funeral services for Frank Murl Mayes of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, Kentucky. Frank passed away April 20, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 88. He was born September 16, 1923 in Bevier, KY., the son of Pleasant “P.W.” and Ila Mayes. He married Etta Dickeson on August 2, 1947 at Hopkinsville, KY and worked as a machinist for Sunbeam. Frank was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific on a heavy cruiser. Frank lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1985 moving from Berwyn, IL. He attended the Bar None Cowboy Church in Midway. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was a life long baseball fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Frank is survived by his wife, Etta Mayes; son, Richard (Rosemary) Mayes of Greensboro, NC; brother Charlie (Clara) Mayes of Dawson Springs, KY; sister Martha (Lewis) Dunford of Bellville, MI; and grandchild Amanda Mayes of Greensboro, NC. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 10:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
