CENTRAL CITY — Florence Ellen Johnson, 98, of Central City, formerly of Mortons Gap, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Greenville. She was born Feb. 5, 1912, in Hopkins County. She was a homemaker and member of Mortons Gap Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leotus Johnson; a daughter, Katherine Underwood; a son, Jessie Lee Johnson; and a grandson, Randall Heltsley. Survivors include her grandchildren, Carolyn (Robert) Davis of Central City and Douglas (Tammy) Heltsley of Madisonville; great-grandchildren Jason (Lynn) Vandiver, Jonathan (Regina) Vandiver, Nicole (Joshua) Messinger, Suzanne Adams, Eric Heltsley and Jordan Heltsley; stepgreat-grandchildren Dustin and Amanda Hartford, Robin Bush, Chris Davis and Jenny Beth Anderson; and great-great-grandchildren Cortney Vandiver Mackenzie Kohnle and Courtney Adams; and stepgreat-great-grandchildren Bryant Anderson, Grace Bush and Carson Davis. Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Marshall Lee officiating, and the Rev. Bob Lowery assisting. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap.
