CENTRAL CITY – Eva Lorene Webster Mathis, 75, of Central City, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at her home following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Mathis was born February 20, 1936 in Butler County to the late Vechel and Annie Webster. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and member of Mercer Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She loved fishing and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Herchel Boyce Mathis; sons Boyce Jr. and Gordon Ray Mathis; brothers Carl and Harold Webster; sisters Betty Jean Webster, Peggy Holman, and Joan Webster; and daughter-in-law Catherine Mathis. Survivors include her sons, Bobby (Brenda) Mathis, Billy Wayne Mathis, Boyd (Donna) Mathis, and Billy Ray (Kellie) Mathis; daughters Becky (Tim) Gray, Romona (Sonny) Fuller, and Martha (Marc) Garrett; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers R.W. (Connie) Webster, Barry (Brenda) Webster, and Randall (Shelia) Webster; sisters Mamie (H.W.) Armstrong, Madine (Wilson) Ray, and Shirley (Terry) Arnett; and sister-in-laws Lavonne Webster and Hazel Webster. Funeral services will be Monday, October 31, 2011 at 10:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Chris Odle officiating, assisted by Rev. Todd Webster.
