CENTRAL CITY – Esther Pauline Gunn, 83, a beloved wife, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Central City. She was born on October 6, 1942, in Marion, KY to Elmer and Katie Todd. Esther’s life was a testament of love and dedication to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Claude Gunn, Terry Gunn, and Jerry Gunn; and brother, Charles Todd.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Buddy Gunn, and their son, Ricky (Angie) Gunn. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Ashlee (Brandon) Miller, Aly (Lincoln) Evitts, Daniel (Lauren Jill) Mercer, and Jacob Mercer; her great-grandchildren, Mayes and Strader Miller, Ellie and Emma Evitts, Tate and Liv Mercer, and J.T. Mercer; and her sister, Patsy (Joe) Holloman. Esther’s memory will live on through her family, whose lives have been enriched by her unwavering love and support.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 29, 2026, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial in Miller Cemetery in Cleaton. Visitation will be Friday after 10:00AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.

My condolences to the Gunn family. Her husband Buddy was a great friend to my father, Bo Perry (Marvin). I remember she was very kind to me as a kid whenever we visited.

So many of my early childhood memories has Esther in them. Her and my mom were the best of buds back then and hung out a lot. Tons and tons of shopping trips! I am so sorry that I won't be there today but please know that my thoughts are with you Ricky and Uncle Buddy. This is such a gorgeous picture of Esther. Love you both.

I meet Mrs. Gunn through her grand daughters and Ricky she was always very kind my Prayers and thoughts are with you Mr. Gunn i am very sorry will keep praying for you.

I love this picture, pure beauty. While I will miss our visits I am comforted by many precious memories and in knowing that those who have gone before her were eager to greet her on the other side.. I can hear Bubs keys rattling’ away. We love y’all and are so sorry we cannot be there with you. Uncle Buddy, you are always in our prayers.
