SACRAMENTO – Emil Locher, Jr., 88, of Sacramento, died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 8:55PM at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mr. Locher was born January 15, 1924 in Daviess County, Kentucky. He worked at General Electric for 44 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil Locher Sr. and Nancy Basham Locher; and two brothers, Morris Locher and W.T. Locher. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Patricia Locher of Tampa, FL; son Bruce Locher of Atlanta; daughter Nancy Black of Frankfort; grandsons Cade Black, Bruce Allen Locher Jr., and Joel Knight; two great-grandsons; brothers Roy Locher of Owensboro and Sam Locher of Valdosta, GA; sisters Eva Hardesty of Owensboro, Rose Gilliam of Owensboro, Lucille Scarce of Davidson, NC, Betty James of Greenville, TX, and Mary Kircher of Owensboro; and companion Sue Higgs. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 1:00PM at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Owensboro.
