Madisonville – Elvis Freeman Edwards, 78, of Madisonville, died Monday, July 27, 2026 at 2:15p.m. at St. Anthony’s Hospice in Henderson. Mr. Edwards was born October 4, 1947 in Muhlenberg County. He was an air force veteran, worked as an insurance agent for American General, and he was a member of the Earlington General Baptist Church, where he was a chairman of the deacons. Elvis loved fishing, was a fan of UK basketball, giving heart to others, and was fond of the children at his church, making sure to give them quarters every Sunday. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Jo Bonnell; his parents, Hobert and Jolene Edwards; his sisters, Joann Deason, and Becky Carver; and his brothers, Timothy Edwards, and David Edwards.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla McIntosh Edwards; his children, Matt (Keesha) Edwards, and Dustin (Monica) Back; his grandchildren, Jocelyn Edwards, Rylan Drake Edwards, Justin (Tiffany) Bonnell, and Alex Bonnell; and his great grandchild, Emberlyn Bonnell.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 2:00p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Mike Easley officiating. Burial in Rose Hill. Visitation will be Wednesday after 10:00a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Earlington General Baptist Church’s Building Fund, at 501 S Atkinson St., Earlington, KY 42410.
