Eldogene Hobgood Pethtel 11/20/2008 CENTRAL CITY — Eldogene Hobgood Pethtel, 65, of 3946 Paradise Road, Central City, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was born July 10, 1943, in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker and member of Richardson Chapel General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Hobgood Sr.; her father, Eldon Mercer; and a granddaughter, Ashley Drake. Survivors include her husband, Duane Pethtel; two sons, John Ray (Nelda) Hobgood Jr. and Duane Hobgood; two daughters, Sondra (Mike) Alverson and Annette (Gary) Stewart; a stepson, Michael Pethtel; grandchildren Danielle Alverson, Nathan Alverson, Patrick Hobgood, Elliott Hobgood, Hillary Hobgood, Travis Drake, Austin Hobgood, Logan Hobgood, Blake Stewart and Jordan Stewart; great-grandchildren Karson Rolley, Kaydon Stewart and Kassidy Stewart; her mother, Imogene Mercer; and a sister, Cheryl (Tommy) Mathis. Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. T.H. Davis officiating, assisted by the Rev. Richard Browning. Burial will be in Wilcox Cemetery in Powderly. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
