CENTRAL CITY – Edna Elizabeth McCoy, 96, of Central City, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at the home of her daughter in Central City, KY, surrounded by family whom she loved and lived for. During her 96 years, she enjoyed fishing and cooking for family and friends. She was known by her CB friends as “Groovy Granny”. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank McCoy; son Wayne McCoy; great-grandsons Dalton McCoy, Preston Morris, and Paxton Morris; brothers Tommy Vanover, Jr. and Carlos Vanover; and sisters Jessie Johnson, Dorothy Stroud, and Gertie Conway. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Tapp and Gloria (Sam) Penrod; daughter-in-law Deanna McCoy; sons Bobby Markwell and Kenneth Markwell; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sister Linda Neal. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2016, at 3:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. J.W. Haire officiating. Burial in Gish Cemetery.
