GREENVILLE – Edna Mae Abbott, 78, of Greenville, died Monday, November 7, 2016, at 7:15PM at Baptist Health in Madisonville. Mrs. Abbott was born February 7, 1938, in Wynnowood, OK. She was a member of Mercer Baptist Church. She married Kenneth L. Abbott on June 29, 1956, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. They have spent an adventurous 60 wonderful years together traveling across the world doing mission work in various countries. She was an Air Force wife, Pastor’s wife, and an Associational Missionary Director’s wife, as well as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joys were to travel and see the world, by car, ship, and plane. She loved to cook and that was a form of love language for her. She treasured the times she spent with all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When her kids were coming, she made sure she cooked what she knew everyone loved, especially her chocolate pies. Everyone knew her refrigerator, freezer, and pantry were full. She loved shopping, which consisted of colorful clothes, sparkling jewelry, and pretty shoes, and she loved her U.K. Wildcats. She loved teaching the younger children in Sunday School, and was a wonderful Pastor’s wife. She had a heart for giving and made sure those less fortunate needs were provided. She loved shopping for kids clothes and toys for the young she knew were in need. She was a benevolent donor to the St. Labre Childrens’ School in Montana and The American Indian Relief Council. She is survived by her husband, Ken Abbott; son Kenny (Shanda) Abbott of Wingo; daughters Shiela (Mike) Perez of Pueblo, CO and Linda (Jerry) Maggard of Owensboro; grandchildren Aaron Hagan, Michael Perez, David Perez, Kayla Jackson, and Blake Abbott; five great-grandchildren; and sister Jimmie Terry of Davis,OK. Funeral services will be Friday, November 11, 2016, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Ken Abbott officiating, assisted by Rev. James Branscum.
