BEECHMONT – Edith “Lorene” Hardison Free, 96, of Beechmont died Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 5:40AM at her residence. Ms. Free was born in Muhlenberg County on June 28, 1929. She was a Homemaker and a lifetime member of Mud River Union General Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, playing softball, watching UK Basketball and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, and most of all her spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Clara Hardison; sister, Dorothy Hardison; and husband, Billy Free.

She is survived by her sons, Mitchel Free (Barbara Price); and Kelly Free (Alicia Burden); grandchildren, Aaron Free, Andrew Free (Sarah), and Rachel Free; brother, Billy (Peggy)Hardison; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 6, 2026 at 1PM at Mud River Union General Baptist Church in Beechmont with Rev. Roy Day officiating, assisted by Bro. Ricky Peterson. Burial in Mud River Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home and Friday after 9AM at the church.
