To Durward's family, I remember meeting some of the family when we visited Greenville and went to see Uncle Lewis & Aunt Rooshie. I know we have met but it has been a long, long time. I was from Murray and met and married Jim in 1957. He passed away in July 1990. We spent many hours on the front porch at 110 Brank. Jim loved his family and therefore I did/do also. Hopefully, sometime we'll be able to get back to Greenville to visit. I'm so sorry about the lose of Durward. I know he'll be missed; but with a loving family to carry on is the greatest legacy to have. God Bless you all... Jane

We are so saddened by the loss of Uncle Durward, and that we were unable to be there to say goodbye to him today. My heart and my prayers are with Patty, Lisa, Randy and Danny and their families. Uncle Durward was someone I always looked forward to seeing. Some of my earliest childhood memories include his twinkling eyes and his smiling chatter. I know he's glad to be with his Lord now and with Aunt Veleda. I know he is experiencing true joy now. Take care of each other, love each other, and life with a loving father. Love you! Deanna, Tim, Jacob and Anna Grace Pletcher

I only had the privilege of knowing Durward a few years as a member of the watch and clock club. I loved the stories and the display of watches he would bring. He was a very friendly man with a big smile.

I am so sorry for your loss, but heavens gained an angel. I was only around him short periods, few times, walking at second Baptist, few lunches, rides, with brenda, scott, and i really liked him. He used to walk around that gym, with such stride and energy... i even told him that i hope i can do that when i am your age. A great man! i just read this a minute ago...... :-( prayers go out to his family and friend Brenda........ :-)

Will miss seeing your Dad at Second when visiting there -- on one of those back rows. He has always been warm, friendly and concerned for all and has been a good friend to my Dad. Both your parents have been a blessing to many. Hope you all know that many prayers are with you. What a good picture! With love, LuAnne and family

So sorry to here of the passing of Durward. He was a wonderful man that always had a smile on his face and friendly greeting when you ran into him. He was a very deer friend of my fathers, Donnie Jones which past away in 2011. They loved working or watch's and talking for hours at the flea market. Ours prayers are with all of you as I have grown to know each of you in my years working at First Kentucy in Greenville. La Donna Culbertson

Durward was a valued friend and member of Nashville Chapter 16 ("Dixie") of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors. At this very moment, a Seth Thomas Sonora Chime clock he sold to me is on display in the Hermitage Public LIbrary here in Nashville, as part of the Chapter's educational efforts. We will miss Durward deeply, and our sympathy goes out to all his family and loved ones.

Jake, It saddens me to hear of the passing of your Grandfather. I know from what you have told me, he gave it a good fight. Your Grandfather will be forever in your heart. May the love of those around you help you through the difficult days ahead. May God's grace and strength be with you and your family. May the peace which comes from the cherished memories of love from your Grandfather comfort you now and always. May you feel my thoughts and prayers for you and your family at this time. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:4 Barbara Carden
