GREENVILLE – Duane Lavern Pethtel, 81, of Greenville, died Monday, September 16, 2024 at his residence in Greenville. Mr. Pethtel was born October 23, 1942 in Illinois. He was a Welder/Miner and a member of Richardson Chapel General Baptist Church since 1978. He was a veteran for the U.S. Army, serving from 1967-1969. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilford Pethtel; mother, Nina York; sister, Gayla; brothers, Wilford, Dick, Thomas, and Rick; first wife, Barbara; second wife, Eldogene; and third wife, Brenda.

He is survived by his son, Michael Pethtel; stepson, Johnny Brown; stepdaughter, Donna Brown; and two brothers, Dwight Pethtel, and Craig York.

Graveside services will be Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11AM at Oak Grove Cemetery in Palestine, IL with David Anderson officiating. Burial to follow. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
