GREENVILLE – Doyle William Piper, Sr., 83, of Greenville, died Friday, August 19, 2011 at 7:30PM at his home. Mr. Piper was born May 12, 1928 in Bevier, KY. He was a laborer at Western Electric Factory and former manager at Loney Video and Tanning in Greenville. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II, and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Greenville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lee Piper; son Doyle Piper Jr.; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his daughter, Gayra Piper of Greenville; grandchildren O.J. (Wendy) Spoon of Greenville, Joshua Piper of Hopkinsville, and Sierra Piper of Greenville; great-grandchildren Alexsie Spoon, Braden Spoon, and Overton Spoon, III; half-sisters Mildred Scott of Crofton, Betty Nell Duenow of Greenville, and Lilly Ann Bowen of Central City; half-brothers Jerry Piper of Powderly, Garland Piper of Nebo, and Bobby Ray Piper of Bremen. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
