Douglas Wayne Whitaker GREENVILLE — Douglas Wayne Whitaker, 62, of 613 Wilder Road, Spring City, Tenn., died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at Earlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was born Nov. 3, 1946, in McLean County. He was a truck driver and a member of Texas Grove Baptist Church, Spring City. He was preceded in death by a son, James Carter, in 2005. Survivors include his wife, Dianne Groves Whitaker of Spring City; four sons, Brandon Whitaker and Odvert Carter Jr., both of Dayton, Tenn., Bryan Whitaker of Plymouth, Ind., and Jason Whitaker of Stanton, Va.; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Gerald Whitaker of Island. Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City, with the Rev. Norman Huscky officiating. Burial in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Greenville.
