He was a retired coal miner with Peabody Coal Co. He is survived by his son, Daniel (Evealynn) Dukes; grandchildren Dakota Dukes, Nathan Dukes, and Hannah Dukes; great-grandchildren Lincoln Dukes and Valkerie Dukes; brother Darrell Wayne (Patricia) Dukes; and sister Freda Covington.
