I met Dorothy over 22 years ago when she came to work at Maple Manor. We became fast friends. Dorothy loved to go anywhere and anytime. If we had to go out of the berg for an appointment, we always managed to work in some shopping and always time for a sit down meal. She wasn't a fan of fast food. She enjoyed sitting down in a restaurant, taking time to catch up. Put a steak in front of her and she was all smiles. When Dorothy loved someone she loved with her whole heart . I learned quickly that her loving friendship came with a sometimes blunt opinions if she disagreed with me. The blessing was that if I did something that she disagreed with, I knew it. I came to appreciate her more and more as the years passed. After I moved from the berg, our friendship endured. Long phone calls, years of doing her online shopping and much too short visits. Theses last months during her most recent health journey, I wished I lived closer so that I could have been a help to her. I thank God for putting Dorothy in my path. Our friendship may have to end on earth but my love for our years of blessed friendship will live in my heart forever. Rest in peace Dorothy. You deserve it.
