Dorothy Nell Dennis Swain

DRAKESBORO- Dorothy Nell Dennis Swain, 95, of Drakesboro, died February 07, 2019 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Dorothy was born December 22, 1923 in Paradise KY. She was a member of Drakesboro First Baptist Church for 62 years. She loved her family and had a special relationship with children in general and loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Major League Baseball and the Little League World Series, and was a member of the Fun Over Forty Club for 54 years. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Walter Swain, parents, Lucien and Josie Dennis, brothers, Roy Dennis, Marion Dennis, Barnard Dennis, Joe Dennis, Howard Dennis, Herschel Dennis, and Wesley Dennis and her sister Thelma Thurman. She is survived by her children Ed(Rosemary)Swain of Bardstown, Karen(Jerry)Parks of Henderson, Doug(Rhadie)Swain of Drakesboro and Kathy(Ed)O’Howell of Cape Girardeau, brother, Robert Boyce Dennis of Vista CA., grandchildren, Jamie(Rita)Swain, Jennifer(Lee)Dossett, Megan Parks, Sherri O’Howell, Ed O’Howell Jr., Chuck O’Howell, Alicia(Jim) Veazey, and Jordan Vittitow, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Drakesboro with Bro. Tom Stovall officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be Saturday February 9, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home in Beechmont and Sunday after 1:00 PM at the church, there will be no visitation at the funeral home on Sunday.
