Island – Dorothy “Lorena” Davis, 81, of Island, died Friday, May 1, 2026 at 6:48a.m. at Riverside Nursing Home in Calhoun, Kentucky. Ms. Davis was born July 4, 1944, in Glasgow, Kentucky. She was a grain clerk for Bunge Corp. in Livermore and she was a member of the Sacramento United Methodist Church. She began the Food Pantry in Sacramento as well as the Angel Food Ministries. Lorena enjoyed her family, cooking, bird watching, canning, and camping. She made sure if someone needed something, they got it. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Davis; her parents, Arthur Lee and Dorothy Helen Stringer; her sister, Linda Pierce; her brother, John Stringer; and her mother and father-in-law, John and Vida Davis.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie (David Willis) Davis of Island; her grandchildren, Darrian (Zack) Johnson, Jacob (Lydia) Zuehl; bonus grandchild, Keila (Tyler) Gish; her great-grandchildren, Logan Ray Johnson, Allison Faye Johnson, with Baby Johnson on the way; bonus great-grandchildren, Sophie Gish, David Gish, and Silas Gish; brother, Kenny (Betty) Stringer; sister-in-law, Wanda Stringer; and brother-in-law, Bobby Pierce.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 1:30p.m. at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento, with Bro. Jesse Johnson officiating.  Burial in Shavers Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday after 10a.m. at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
